MonkeyPox; A new deadly virus or fake news?

Quite recently, The World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the Monkeypox a 'global health emergency'. As more than 18,000 cases arise around the world and deaths have begin to be recorded. Additionally, as the world begins to move away from COVID-19, we must be cautious as we are particularly vulnerable.

Research suggests that the smallpox vaccine is 85% effective against monkeypox. It is recommended that patients exposed to Monkeypox receive a vaccine to reduce the severity and likelihood of death. Monkeypox however pales in comparison to the recent COVID-19 virus.

“we don’t have the potential for something spreading through the globe at anything like the kind of rate that we saw with covid,” said Oxford professor Aris Katzourakis

Monkeypox currently hasn't reached the same status that Covid-19 has and scientists predict that it won't be come close to it. But what do you think?
