During the 2021-22 season, the Boston Celtics had high expectations but fell short as they started 23-24 through 47 games. They were out of the playoffs and would projected to either missing it completely or having to fight their way in from the 10th or 9th seed.

The team with an extremely talented young duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown were in trade talks as they were trying to figure out how to turn their miserable season around. Fans were skeptical at the new coaching staff hire, Ime Udoka and wanted to blow the team up.

However, right after a confusing tweet by Jaylen Brown

The team would explode, going on a 25-6 run and ending up with a 51-31 record, 2nd in the Eastern Conference. The team would sweep the dysfunctional Brooklyn Nets who had Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, defeat the former MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and the reigning champions and finally win in 7 games against the gritty and dangerous Miami Heat.

They ended their season only two games short of the championship as they were out-duelled by Steph Curry and the experienced Golden State Warriors.

The big question being, can they do it again?

During this offseason, they addressed their bench depth by trading for playmaking guard Malcolm Brogdan, signing sharpshooter Danillo Gallinari and drafting the explosive guard from Alabama, JD Davison.

But will it be enough for them to get back to the finals? With Kevin Durant looking to be traded to another team it's difficult to predict who will end up on top. However I would say the Boston Celtics are certainly one of the favourites to win the chip next year.
